Invitation The Inaugural Seminar TOXEMINAR-1 on the "Human Toxicology and Environmental Health: New Frontiers and Future Challenges" will be held in the Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh on February 22, 2009. TOXEMINAR-1 is organized under the auspices of the Indian Society of Toxicology (IST). TOXEMINAR-1 will comprise eminent speakers and experts as chairpersons. Scientists from research institutions, universities and industries are welcome for the participation in TOXEMINAR-1. A very warm welcome and looking forward to meeting you at AMU, Aligarh, UP. Venue Aligarh is situated in the mid of the Doab, the land between the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, at a distance of 130 Km south east of Delhi on the Delhi-Howrah rail route and the Grant Trunk road. One of the seven wonders, Taj Mahal, is just 80 Km away from Aligarh. The climate is likely to be cold during TOXEMINAR-1. It is therefore advisable to carry woolen clothing. At present the Department has five sections namely (i) Genetics (ii) Entomology (iii) Icthyology and Fisheries (iv) Nematology and (v) Parasitology and is well equipped with all recent instrumentations and research facility.

Call for Abstracts and Full-length Papers Abstracts are invited for souvenir (max. 250 words). It should describe adequately the contents such as purpose, basic procedure, main findings and the conclusions of the study. Avoid the use of symbols, equations and abbreviations in the abstract. The abstract must be typewritten (Times New Roman; 12 font size) with single line spacing and a margin of 3 cm on all sides of paper and be sent via email to toxeminar1@yahoo.com Authors interested in the publication of the full length papers of the abstract for TOXEMINAR-1 may send their articles to toxeminar1@yahoo.com for publication in the journals Chemical and Environmental Research (www.maasindia.org) or Biology and Medicine (www.biolmedonline.com). One of the authors must have registered for TOXEMINAR-1 and one registration will imply the publication of one full length paper. The publication of the articles will be done after peer review, and the corresponding author will be entitled to get five reprints of the article free of cost if he/she wishes to publish in Chemical and Environmental Research. The access to the PDF of full length articles published in Biology and Medicine will be free of cost. Authors are requested to go through the respective websites for the manuscript preparations or can email to toxeminar1@yahoo.com. A certificate for attending TOXEMINAR-1 will be given to the registered delegates. If the registered delegates are unable to attend TOXEMINAR-1 the souvenir will be sent to his/her address by registered parcel.
AUTHOR'S WARRANTY While submitting the manuscript the author(s) should give a written warranty that the said contribution is author's original work and has not been submitted for publication elsewhere. Best Paper Award (BPA) There will be two awards of Rs. 500/- (each) and a certificate for the best full length paper for the participants of TOXEMINAR-1. The award will be given to the first author in the manuscript. A DD of Rs. 500/- and a certificate will be sent by registered post and names of the awardees will be displayed on www.biolmedonline.com after March 15, 2009. The first author of the paper must be the member (Annual/Life) of the Indian Society of Toxicology. Non-members must become life members, OR pay the annual membership fee (Rs. 300/- for faculty, and Rs. 250/- for PGs) as a separate DD in the name of "President, Indian Society of Toxicology" payable at Ernakulam, and send to Dr. V.V. Pillay, Chief, Poison Control Centre, Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre, Amrita Lane, Elamakkara, Cochin - 682026.

The registration fee will include the scientific program, proceedings of the seminar, inaugural banquet, lunch, tea/coffee and dinner.
Visit to Taj Mahal, Fatehpursikri and Agra Fort Next day, the arrangements will be made for a visit to Agra. The charges will be around Rs. 700/- per person.
Accommodation The accommodation for the delegates will be arranged in the hotels and guest houses. Tariffs for various hotels and guest houses are as follows: (Taxes extra)
Local traveling facility will be provided to all the delegates. Full accommodation money and the Agra visit fee should be sent along with the registration fee as a demand draft in favour of "Organizing Secretary TOXEMINAR-1", payable at Aligarh (UP), India.
